I reckon I got scared because I don't like things under the water, stupid really.

Anyway those places sound lovely!

Nothing stupid about it at least you had a go. I have to confess I was scared of water before I took up diving. Almost freaked out when I had to take my mask off underwater as part of my assessment. (We were at the bottom of a lake in March in a leaky dry suit) But managed to hang in there and passed the course, didn't look back after that. In fact a little fear is a good thing, it stops complacency.

New Zealand is my favourite, though in terms of pretty fish the Red Sea has a well deserved reputation.
My advice to you would be to just put on a mask and snorkel and watch the underwater world swimming on the surface. Most of the colourful fish and coral are in 5 to 10 metres of water.

I love to snorkel and do so whenever I can. Mostly in Crystal River in Florida. On one such outing, I was touched by a manatee. I found out soon after that I was pregnant with my first child at the time of the encounter. My kid is a natural swimmer. Coincidence? ;-)

Yeah, I'm not sure how that conncts but it was magical none the less. Touching a manatee is good luck! At least it is now for me.

My husband had one on his truck too but with the third child, the truck became impractical. I know Ocala. And St Pete is a second home to me. Been going my whole life.

Think about it (no pun intended) - you could do pretty much anything. Could be very advantageous in a job interview, you could get information out of anyone, could get out of sticky situations etc.
