RE: Series 9 Episode 6 discussion
Malcolm was probably also suspicious because the Albany file has no link to Cologne and the RAF. If it was left with Malcolm, its contents are probably very important. Would Harry, even in dire trouble, use the file to buy himself out of trouble? Not likely I would have thought. Also Malcolm mentioned 3 people that were trusted with the file. I assume the other two were Ros and Adam. Would Lucas have really been the third? Surely that would have been Ruth? I assume the list was given to Malcolm many years ago if Adam was on it.

Don't think I didn't already go there.

Big blinking red light, yes.

Series S9 Spoiler: show
Although other spoilers have now emerged regarding Lucas I don't believe he can be anything other than the 3rd least likely person and Tariq, Beth or Dmitri just haven't integrated far enough into the show yet for their being involved to have any big impact.

Agree.

edit to add,
Spoiler: show
Vaughn asked Lucas how it felt to be Lucas North. He and Maya knew him first as John. So can we assume Vaughn gave John the new identity? Was it some other organization (or MI5 which would include Harry in this secret?) I disagree when people say split personality, it's really two identities he's trying to juggle. If he chooses John, he keeps Maya. If he chooses Lucas (not looking good) he loses his job (and probably his life or freedom.) Could Vaughn be CIA? They have a hand in everything and each hand never knows what the other thousands are up to.

Oh heavens, another idea,
Spoiler: show
Would if "Albany" is a kill order? Adam, Ros, now possibly Lucas, or even Malcolm. It was a sign to Malcolm that the Albany situation was getting closer to him.

Rooftop scene:
Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away.
Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

Harry RE: Series 9 Episode 6 discussion
:dodgy:Did anyone notice the swings in Malcolm's garden? Why would they be there? Just a thought, but maybe it wasn't Malcolm's real home and it was all a set up. We only saw the hall and one room - remember the comment about his mum sleeping in the other room, so Lucas didn't see anywhere else. If there were only two furnished rooms it wouldn't take long to clear them out.

No it wasn't Malcolm's real home and definitely a set up. Swings makes me think of

I actually didn't notice them.

Good point! So, perhaps the Chinese are Vaughn's employers. The Chinese-Russian hacker-cryptology people are an alliance of Lucas' previous nemesis, the FSB, and his current one(?) the Chinese secret service. Too many questions!

Concering his double identity, what about Lucas' ex wife the Russian FSB ?clerk with whom he broke ties a few series back? Or was he brainwashed a-la Jason Bourne into believing he was another person?Huh

Idea Is Malcolm setting Lucas up? Why did Malcolm really retire when he did? The previous Home Secretary retired and was up to no good. Grasping at straws I know Silba Could Malcolm be part of Nightingale ? Tariq said he had been unaware of the hackers spying on the Grid. For all we know Malcolm could have allowed them initial access for a "Yalta" type reason?? Malcolm and this Chinese-Russian alliance?

Idea Maybe Beth has masterminded the whole thing and is still freelancing this time for the Chinese. Although she and Dmitri are becoming part of the Spooks family. The new members of Spooks may not be quite as sharp as Ros or Adam but they're certainly loveableThhug

And since when did it become acceptable for the CIA chief to be inside the Grid? I doubt our Spook friends have already forgotten the backstabbing antics of the "cousins" from Series 8! Lucas has a lot of explaining - keep doing what you do best Ruth!

This is starting to hurt my brain!!! It's not suppose to function this way!!

Now all I want to do is hide Lucas away in a locked box so no one will find him and he can't go cause any trouble!Dodgy

That boy is giving me heart-attacks and gray hairs, and I'm only 19!!Suicida

Mmmm. I have already mentioned the swings in a previous post, but you do have a valid point Minimo. I thought that I spotted them just because I am the 40 something mother of children of swing using age! However, although blurry, they were clearly in the middle of the shot of the garden. This could be a coincidence, maybe the production person thought them irrelevant, or maybe they are there as a hint. I cannot believe that someone in the production team didn't spot them and say 'SWINGS!'. This might have been spotted post production and they had to live with the shot. Who knows? We will have to wait and see.

I only wish I could have got Malcolm to move us this year from a considerably small house. Took us 4 days to pack up!

Swings gives me a horror movie feel.....like empty swings swinging back and forth....

On the other hand, I think I'm going to hide Lucas in my cookie jar....that way I can make sure he is not gonna do anything stupid.....Dodgy
