They could even have done a storyline how Khordat gave up Bin Laden to further his own ambitions, or how he got played by our heroes into inadvertently betraying Bin Laden's position. Good idea Silktie. I wonder if the script will need editing to take this event into account or scenes reshot? They will need to mention OBL somewhere this series, surely? |

Well like I said before, mentioning Bin Laden's death would really depend on the starting/ending time and date of this series, it could very well be that this series is set during the time before the announcement of Bin Laden's death. So they don't necessarily have to mention it unless they really want to. RIP Carter Hall ~ Hawkman |

As Osama Bin Laden you could have a member of Section D participating in an operation to take down a high ranking member of Al Qaeda in Pakistan.

RE: Series 10 Episode Ideas (just for fun)
I think that the inclusion of Bin Laden's death in S10 will depend on whether or not they want to feature it or acknowledge it. In the past, they seem to be much more inclined to acknowledge these real life these happenings rather than make them the focus of an episode. If they just want to acknowledge it, then there is bound to be an AQ cell running roughshod across the UK at some point in S10. All they need to do is credit it to a retaliatory attack.

When I see the real life events that happen on a day to day basis, it makes me think about Peter Firth's comment about how Spooks has covered every storyline there is. There will always be enough stories surrounding terrorism and espionage to keep the writers busy.

Great idea Silktie. They may not have killed Khordat, we only heard that his plane had been shot down.....was he actually on it or do they American have him? I'd love to see Khordat back in Spooks. Not really sure where this might belong, but I thought it was interesting, and worth sharing:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/may/...-spy-films I know this was sort-of-almost-a-little-bit done in 7.8 with Viktor's team, but I do like the idea of Harry's people being 'them' to somebody else's 'us'. I also like the idea of this being no bad thing, and of it being explored by the show as a point of well-earned success on the part of the 'other side'. I'd really like to see if Spooks can make me relieved - or at least pleased - that MI5 came out on the losing side |

RE: Series 10 Episode Ideas (just for fun)
I'm not at Series 10 yet (I'm actually around 9 now), but some ideas that may come up this year include references (or some kind of storyline involving this) to the protests in the Middle East and the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Maybe something about the Royal Wedding too. A lot has happened this year and I wouldn't be surprised if they have references to some of the events I mentioned. I hope my next statement isn't too off-topic, but I just wanted to say that I'm kind of amazed at how much has happened this year and barely a quarter of the year has just passed!
What do you guys think? Do you think they'll use some of this year's events? I really like how Spooks deals with many pressing and contemporary events. |

RE: Series 10 Episode Ideas (just for fun)
I think using the Royal Wedding as a storyline would be difficult, because (as far as we know) everything went smoothly and therefore the outcome of the operation would be already known, if you see what I mean. It would be nice if there is a passing comment about it though.
