I don't see why casting has to be chosen by nationality, British, American, Australian, I could care less as long as the actor/actress is good.
I would like to actually see John Barrowman, maybe he and David Tennant can be like a duo of evil-doers that wants to take over the world or something, I mean, those two both share this crazy maniacal energy, it would be fun! Goodness knows they may actually bring some much needed levity in Spooks!

My dream spooks actor would be Jason Isaacs I think, he would be a good Adam style brave man character. (and eye candy) or he could channel Lucius Malfoy and be a bad guy - either way perfect

I have no clue!
Part of the reason I love this show is that they introduce me to actors I never knew existed alongside those I have known for years. I just hope they continue doing this for me. I don't want anyone too famous. Then it just turns into a guest star and I think that under-mines the point. S9 was a red letter series for great guest artists in general. And wasn't there a rumor that Stephen Fry was supposed to be in it? He'd be fun I suppose.

I think he could pull off a complex character.
