The actual date sounds about right, although I still think it might be the week after as the DVD is only out on 12th September. And trailers don't normally start to be shown until a couple of weeks before the programme is broadcast, so early October at least. However the BBC do normally show a trailer for the upcoming Autumn season so we might see some new Spooks snippets in that.

The autumn trailer has already been released and it only shows clips from the last episode of series 7.

Well Wiki is wrong in one aspect - Spooks finished filming in August 2009 and not May!

The view from elsewhere seems to be that Criminal Justice will be shown in week of 12 October either from Sun to Thursday or Mon to Fri and the autumn schedules will begin in earnest after that.

The question for me is whether Spooks will continue to be shown on BBC 3 too.

Nearly 7m people tuned into BBC3 for the Series finale right after episode 7 aired on BBC1...

And that's like the MOST viewers ANY BBC3 show has ever had right? Tongue

I didn't think the finale was shown on BBC3. Aren't the first and last episodes always exclusively BBC1? BBC 3 is great but I think it depresses the BBC 1 audience figures which in turn has an impact on how the show is generally regarded. On the other hand, BBC 3 doing something like 'Confidential' a la Dr Who would be very welcome. .

I couldn't watch the BBC 3 version, which was perhaps for the best as waiting an extra week to watch the finale may have been too much! Don't they have a short confidential on the series 6 disk?

I think there was a behind the scenes look at 6.8 with interviews and filming footage on the Grid and at the cemetary where Ros' funeral was held.

That's it. Perhaps they've done one for series 7 as well? (sorry, don't have boxset so don't know)

It's not out until 12 Oct but I think the adverts say it has behind the scenes in Moscow.

Just the one? Tongue It is usually very wrong so I wouldn't trust that published start date at all. I'm hoping for that date though, as that is much earlier than last years.

The series 7 DVD boxset is supposed to have quite a list of extras. This is copied from DVD Times:

Episodes are spread across four-discs with the following extras:
Making of Documentary
Spooks in Russia
Episode 6 ‘Action Sequence’ featurette
Original Trailer
Audio Commentaries with producer Katie Swinden, writers Christian Spurrier and Neil Cross, directors Edward Hall and Sam Miller on episodes 5 and 8

Spooks in Russia sounds good. I'm hoping for Spooks in Space for the series 8 set. Wink
