RE: Possibly the best Series? - bertowud - 21-09-2009 03:27 AM I still think it's one of the best shows around, but I agree with RoninExec, Spooks became a different show around Series 5. Before Jack Bauer never crossed my mind when watching, now a crossover with 24 wouldn't surprise me at all. RE: Possibly the best Series? - RoninExec - 21-09-2009 01:50 PM My point exactly. When you see the main characters driving thru the city at high speed to save someone, when they couldve just called a police patrol 20 seconds away from the scene, something is definitely lost in the realm of plausibility. RE: Possibly the best Series? - almh - 21-09-2009 05:18 PM Yeah, but as we keep hearing from them, the Spooks cast don't trust PC Plod. Then again, then entire cast isn't that believable - do MI5 only have about 6 people per section??? RE: Possibly the best Series? - Beatriz - 21-09-2009 07:12 PM Season 5 is probably my favourite one, it's true that Spooks changed after that, I miss the undercover ops as they were in the previous series, for example I like the episode in which Zoe goes undercover as a teacher... Now there is a lot of special effects, it's true that now, it seems a US-series, I like them too but I love the European print in movies and series, not so flashy (can I say this way?) RE: Possibly the best Series? - almh - 21-09-2009 07:15 PM I agree - I love the special effects, but decent undercover work can never be over shown, especially not on Spooks RE: Possibly the best Series? - rednailpolish - 21-09-2009 07:25 PM Season 5 and 6 are my favorites.Season 7 was also pretty great, I just miss Adam in it (I'll never get over him, sorry!) I loved that they start using split screen, I feel it gives more dynamism. I loved the story lines and the arrival of Ros. I just watched the last season of 24 and I feel like Spooks couldn't be as far as 24 as it is now. They might have had more spectacular fights and all but there's still this complexity of the role of secret services and this reality touch that makes Spooks so amazing. They always avoid the black and white clichés and deal with the thin line of morality with a lot of subtlety. RE: Possibly the best Series? - almh - 21-09-2009 07:28 PM I love the split screen, although they continually make me envious that I can't do split screen on my computer (iMovie...) RE: Possibly the best Series? - pokojztoba - 19-10-2009 08:55 AM hmm, episode 1 and two were brilliant in this series, but in my opinion, as a whole, series four was better... and also series six was also better i believe RE: Possibly the best Series? - Tea Lady - 19-10-2009 09:08 AM I love series 5 because of the R/H relationship and you started to see what a cow Ros could be. But I also like series 4, possibly because of Juliet. She added something that was missing in series 6 and 7. Harry could really bat off her and there were some great scenes. Spooks needs a good head of the JIC in series 8. RE: Possibly the best Series? - sam b - 24-10-2009 09:24 PM Series five was the first box set i watch and that was only because hermione norris was in it I was totally gripped from the begining to the end expect for epi eight found it boring it only got interesting when Ros kick ass and saved Adam |
