Malcolm is gone??!!?? I can't wait to see it in NZ now, though it will probably be at least 6-7 months before we get it!!

And Ruth married? I guess she had to get on with her life, but I always wanted her and Harry to get together, though there is always hope...

I know that you mean almh. I am annoyed but I think I knew that the writers would play the storyline like that. They were not going to give us the fairytale ending we all so desp wanted. As PF said though "you cant ignore a forest fire"

Hi, I'm new to this site, and in the United States. I have watched every single Spooks episode so far and desperately want to see series 8 lol Does anyone know where i can see episode one online? Thanks

Maybe, by giving Ruth a husband and stepson they meant to make the storyline more complex, to give the HR relationship another twist before they finally do go out on more than one date. Although, I thought her faking her own death was enough of a damper on their relationship.
And Malcolm definitely was heroic to the end, especially with Ruth's stepson. That was soo tense.

That was a real shock - they really did keep Malcolm's departure under wraps. I never heard the slightest whisper of that.
There can surely be no question now that there will have to be at least one another addition to the cast? - Ben, Connie and Malcolm all gone and only Ruth rejoining.
In all honesty while I enjoyed it I thought there could have been a bit more action but it's still far and away the best programme on TV.
Obviously the death of Ruth's husband leaves the way open for another H/R relationship.

As for episode 1:
I really admire Harry for not giving up the location even when faced with the death of two innocent people and the ridicule of a dear friend. He knew two lives was a worthwhile price to pay for the safety of thousands.
Ruth seemed different than when she left, I can't put my finger on it but she has changed.
Malcolm's departure should have got more screentime.. why did we not see goodbyes between him and everyone else? (unless that's next episode? which I doubt) I fear Spooks is becoming too cavalier with departures.. rushing them..
Not sure I like the new CIA woman..
