RA plays a Gulf War vet - John Porter - scarred by an experience where due to his error in judgement 3 men were lost. Years on he's a drunk tramp on the street on the road to nowhere until his daughter shows up and persuades him to make something of himself again. A Sky Reporter is taken hostage in Libya and John Porter recognizes the main terrorist as the person he inadvertently saved all those years ago. He (somehow) manages to persuade the Government that he is the man for the rescue job. There follows lots of shooty style typical Chris Ryan stuff and a twist in tow. Oh and a smattering of sex
*breathes* It's a great book, helps when you visualize RA as JP tho......

It was a good book, hopefully the film is as good, it was very action packed !

I have recently discovered samples of RA's audio adventures, amongst which "Sylvester, or the Wicked Uncle" by Georgette Heyer stood out. When he descibed the protagonist I felt that character had been written with him in mind (producers take note! Smile)
Anroad, the 4 CDs apparently only allow for an abridged version and since I like Jane Austen's novels, this one sounds as if I'll be buying it next. Obviously right after getting the audio books Smile
I swaar when I finished listening to the all too short excerpt I had to go out and buy chocolate! Blush

The Robin Hood audio CDs are amazing - he gets Jonas Armstrong's voice perfect, and obviously his own Guy voice is simply gorgeous..........*melts*

he makes a pretty convincing Sheriff too... I have both books on my iPod now and it makes time fly when you travel...still, he should have read all the books Smile

I have recently converted one of my students by telling her that one way to improve her English is to listen to the books... she balked a bit at Robin Hood, said she was too old for that sujet but was easily convinced as soon as she had heard him speak the first 10 words... will work those into my future assignments.. should make teaching much easier (at least for the female fraction Smile)

btw - I see you couldn't wait for your boiler suit scene sig? LOL
glad people actually use those little drabbles, that way I only have to keep conversations going to see them all the time, instead of changing mine every 2 days.. Tongue
