Correct me, but in 5th minute of this episode Harry said that Tom, Dick and someone else want responsibility. Who the hell are those three men. Last name I didn't even heard correct, but I am not native in English.

Was it something along the lines of "every Tom, Dick and Harry"? It's just a common English phrase to describe the majority of "average", "every-day" people. Kind of like "Joe Bloggs" if you've ever heard of that one Smile

There's a wiki article about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom,_Dick_and_Harry

Yeah, he says every 'Tom, Dick and Osama' is claiming responsibility for the gasplant blowing up, but that it was actually an accident. Like Byatil says, it is an English phrase used to indicate that a lot of people are doing something. In this case, Harry varied it a bit to include Osama Bin Laden's name to indicate that many terrorist organisations are claiming responsibility for the explosion, even though none of them were responsible for it.

Continuing on my own personal re-watch in preparation for S10, I have three more things to say about this episode:

1) I like Tariq's penguin t-shirt. Yahoo

2) Was Jo's alias to Bibi a tongue-in-cheek in-joke re: PF's innate chattiness? Gabby Firth? Coincidence? I don't know....Silba

3) I love the exchange between Harry and Jo re: Ruth at the end. Have they ever had a scene with just the two of them before? I wish Alrick Riley had ignored what is, admittedly, a really cool lighting effect and concentrated on the actors' interaction. Dodgy

A good spot with the Gabby Firth comment A Cousin. You are probably right there. A little in joke to keep the cast and crew amused.

I don't think I have watched this episode all the way through again. I do love that end scene between Harry and Jo though. I hate the lighting. Im old fashioned and like to see my actors facial expressions and some of this was lost in the sunlight. With the shaky camera work criticism, it was just something further to distract me from the dialogue.

I can't remember another Harry and Jo scene, even after the rape. Harry passed that job to Ros. It's a shame though. There probably were scenes written im guessing, but they never made it to the screen.

I remember
Series 9 Spoiler: show
Sophia Myles
saying that PF likes to make her corpse on set, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a tongue-in-cheek joke Smile Nice spot there, A Cousin!

And I can't think of another Harry and Jo scene either. There are a few with them and other characters, but I think that might be the only one with just the two of them :/

Forgot to mention that I love the structure of the opening of this particular episode. From the re-cap that ramps up to Mani yelling at Harry, cut to the quiet H/R scene on the Mellennium (?) Bridge to the Gas Processing Plant. This is when it gets really good. That last section is so suspensefully paced, cutting quicker and quicker between the bored children and the panicking worker until she stops dead at the panel displaying "Failure Imminent." Cut to explosion aaaaannnnnnndddd...cue music! The explosion is at the same pitch as the opening chord of the title music.

For all the hand-held close-up camera work and artsy-fartsy shots (Harry & Jo scene) this is Alrick Riley at his best. He knows how to build suspense.

They've been plenty of comments over the years about PF giggling and trying to make others giggle. Apparently MM and PF filming together could be time consuming sometimes.

I like this episode. And I think it is in the weaker few of the season.
