Have just watched the first two episodes of series one and although I don't think they're as good as sereis 7 and 8 I still really like it so far.
Have been thinking as to why I hadn't heard of it before I did, then realised I had been living in England for little over a year when it aired and also I was a bit too young to watch it!

My very first "Spooks" encounter was 6.9 on BBC Canada.
Then by chance/fate/good luck/tv gods PBS showed the final episode of Series 1 a day or two later and I was a goner. Not only did I have to find out what happened next - I had to go back and find out how it got to that point. I begged my roommate to tell me "Did they die? Did they live" - she told me nothing...she said find out for yourself...so I did!
