RE: Photo Challenge - Nitrus - 22-06-2010 08:12 PM He's one of my uni mates, so you can guess the accusations. lol. No feedback as of yet, he's not known for being prompt on this stuff. It's likely that I'll hear nothing until end of summer. Sorry. RE: Photo Challenge - YourFutureMuse - 23-06-2010 09:56 AM Hahaha I find it funny your challenge has been infiltrated by spies in the form of your uni mate lol I would love to have seen the accusation! RE: Photo Challenge - Nitrus - 23-06-2010 12:43 PM My lecturer just emailed me, here's more info on the man: 1. The gentleman in the photo is a military security specialist who signs his emails "TJ". 2. He is travelling back from a conference. 3. This a flight transfer in a longer journey. So we know we have the wrong guy so far, we may also have the wrong flight however I am 90% sure we've got the right flight. +reps will be handed out like candy to people who produce good stuff here. Clarification to niggling question needed: My husband seems to think that an iPhone would auto update to the correct time zone. What say you to that, oh geeky one? I have yet to change the ring tone on mine and its time for a new one. RE: Photo Challenge - Nitrus - 24-06-2010 03:16 PM Yes, the iPhone should auto-update and the time is probably correct. I was just speculating that it could be a possibility, technology isn't always reliable. The iPhone could also have been in "Airplane Mode" restricting its ability to update to the correct timezone. RE: Photo Challenge - A Cousin - 24-06-2010 04:33 PM So much for my softball players and USACo Engineers, huh? So it is all quite disjointed and I am still editing my Operations Manual for work so I NEED diversion. So taking the extremely helpful info provided by your instructor and keeping Nitrus' previous work as given, this is what I have found: I did a quick search of Military Security Conferences and one came up immediately: 8th European Conference on Information Warfare and Security Military Academy, Lisbon & the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. 6-7 July 2009 http://academic-conferences.org/eciw/eciw2009/eciw09-home.htm I have trolled through the picture archives to see if I could find TJ but nothing popped out at me. Still working that lead.... I checked the Flight Status web-page to just see if it is even possible for direct flights from Lisbon to Atlanta to occur and they can/do, but was not able to search past flights as I don't really want to register. I leave that to you. Here is the one I came up with: Route: Lisbon (LIS) 4:24 PM to Atlanta (ATL) 11:24 AM Date: Thu June 24, 2010 Time: All day This particular conference had the AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) all over it so I did a search of their event calendar. Several came up for the late July 2009 period: 1) AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Center Overview Event Date: 07/29/2009 Description: Colonel Robert Gearhart will provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the MCNOSC with an emphasis on Cyber Security as it relates to the U.S. Marine Corps. Event Subject: MCNOSC Event Speaker: Colonel Robert A. Gearhart Jr., USMC Event Category: Luncheon Event Theme: Marine Corps Enterprise Network Operations and Security Location: Luncheon at the Clubs at Quantico, Quantico Marine Corps Base, VA http://www.afcea.org/calendar/eventdet.jsp?event_id=18850&w=Y Its a luncheon though, seems along way to go just for lunch. More interesting to me is this: 2) AFCEA: Open Government and Innovations Conference http://events.1105govinfo.com/events/ogi-open-government-2010/home.aspx Event Date: 07/21/2009 - 07/22/2009 Event Organizer: AFCEA Event Sponsor: Hosted by 1105 Government Information Group and presented by the DoD CIO in partnership with AFCEA International, AFEI, NAPA, and MiXT Media Strategies. Description: Use Discount Code AFCEA for $50 Off Early Bird Rate Ends July 3rd The Open Government Innovations Conference (OGI) is an opportunity to collaboratively explore how government can use - and is already using - social media tools and social software to achieve President Obama's call for government transparency, participation, collaboration and innovation. On July 21 & 22, 2009, thought leaders from government and industry will convene at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington to share ideas and case studies about how federal, state and local government can use emerging technologies to create a more efficient and effective government Government 2.0 by: o Collaborating across government agencies o Engaging citizens o Partnering with industry Accordingly, the Open Government & Innovations Conference (OGI) will be structured around three program tracks: 1. Government with Government 2. Government with Citizens 3. Government with Business We are excited to embrace the collaborative spirit and use social media tools to build the OGI conference WITH you - the government social media community. Who can pass up an Early Bird Special! This got me wondering if there was a AFCEA Chapter in Panama City and there is at - wait for it! - Tyndall AFB. Washington DC has two major airports: Dulles and Ronald Reagan. There are Delta commuter flights from both several times daily. Again I rely on someone else search Mon. 8/3/09 on Flight Tracker, but commuter flights don't change scheduling weekday to weekday. Of course, the flight from DC doesn't have to on Delta but most people stick with one airline for ease sake unless they are no other options. The options abound in this situation. I'll keep sniffing at this trail as I can. RE: Photo Challenge - picard1109 - 24-06-2010 07:37 PM Wow! Very impressive, Jess! RE: Photo Challenge - A Cousin - 25-06-2010 02:47 PM Thanks Lou! It is all just good old American bluster at this point. I still have no suggestion of who TJ actually is. The really scary thing is it is all just out there in the ether for the taking. I found all that on my lunch break. If a Jane Nobody like me can do it.... I did look up all USAF bios with the words Security Specialist in it and read the bios and saw pictures of everyone who had either first and middle name initials of TJ or first and last name initials of TJ. I do now know that one of the is called Tom Jones and another likes to play the bag pipes. But none are our boy. |
