An anteroom where unfettered (or unlettered, but I'm pretty sure it's unfettered) artisans gather

Here's the riddle:

An anteroom where unfettered artisans may gather.

Isn't assonance the repetition of vowels?

I would never have solved that!!! lol

It was the whole rythym thing that had me stumped initially - I kept getting confused by how one of the letters seemed to have two possible letter values.
Then I spotted how the last three characters were 'qg$' and since q=' ' and $=a, and there's no actual two-letter word (that I know of) that ends in a, I tried reversing the sequence. Then it fell into place Tongue

Yeh, the whole thing with the rhythm was me trying to tell you that the string was reversed.. without being blunt about it lol.
