Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - Nitrus - 18-01-2010 10:40 PM Ok, so after the very impressive hast in which Chris managed to decode the message last time, I decided to move away from common techniques and devise my own code. This time the decoded message is a riddle, which you have to solve in order to win. Rules 1. The first person to reply to this thread with the solved riddle wins. 2. Prize is the much coveted "Competition Winner" award and a massive 2+rep! 3. Staff cannot enter. 4. You can reply more than once with different suggestions. 5. Don't post the riddle if you have decoded the message. 6. The competition will not end until someone has posted the solution to the riddle. Here's the encoded message: n£dj$eql$tqug$u@jn$qw£n£jj£xg?q£n£dkqt%%n£jg$qg$ And here's a clue to get you started: The code I devised is simple alphabetical replacement, (a=z, b=y), that kind of thing, but the message could have been rearranged before being put through the encrypter. Here's an additional clue, the alphabetical replacement for 'hym' = 'dlt' BUT if you put 'rythym' through the entire encryption process it comes out with 'tldjln'. Plus, here are some more letters that I think you'll need a - $ o - % u - ? GO! RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - i luv lucas - 19-01-2010 09:32 AM What!!! Who is just a Mr Smarty Pants then???? RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - Tea Lady - 19-01-2010 09:44 AM Did you work at Bletchley Park in the 1940's Nitrus? RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - Nitrus - 19-01-2010 04:27 PM No, but I'm a computer scientist.. we do this kinda crap for fun. Lol. RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - Beatriz - 19-01-2010 06:07 PM Can we bribe you? (Just joking!! I don't want any warning!) I don't have time atm, hope nobody decode it until next week, or if somebody does, can you make another one for the next week, I'd love to try RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - Nitrus - 19-01-2010 06:09 PM Sure, bribery is fine.. the answer will cost you 3 goats and a cow. RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - Beatriz - 19-01-2010 06:29 PM What do you want 3 goats and a cow for? UPS is fine for you? Ok, I'll give it a go when I have time (though it's tempting me) RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - Nitrus - 19-01-2010 06:30 PM I reckon it's too hard atm anyway. So I might give more clues soon, if people really start crying out for them. lol. RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - YourFutureMuse - 19-01-2010 06:31 PM I give up with this aha! Is it some sort of computer thing that I need to do, cos if so I don't have a hope in hell haha I even asked my friends I was so desperate for clues! ( yes I did get a few odd looks ) RE: Code Breaking Competition 2.0 - bertowud - 20-01-2010 01:44 AM Three goats and a cow? Hmmmm..... |
