RE: Episode 8 Discussion
Harry had to go and leave her. Ruth knew that. Harry really had Ruth fussing about him this episode. I wonder if Harry liked that?

RE: Episode 8 Discussion
Maybe he did. There was a slight smile there when Ruth had a go at him about the HS being a good man. Harry needs to just smile and not finish it off with a pout. Keep the smile going Harry, there's a good chap.

RE: Episode 8 Discussion
Yeah I liked the bit in his office when they were talking about HS - back to old HR moments - Ruth coming up to Harry nervously, him listening to her supressing a smile and then Ruth turning out to be right, as always

I loved this episode but I must say: HOW CAN THEY BE SO CRUEL, to left us with such a cliffhanger and have to wait until October??!!?? Is just too much! Ros was totally great in this ep. I found many times myself saying 'Go Ros' -I cheered for her at her fight with Sarah -'You hold her hand and I'll pick her hair'. -The banter between her and Lucas was nice to watch. -Loved that she shot Sarah. I know there's more, I'll add it when I rewatch it Oh, I also felt there was flirting between Ros and HS Sarah: When she got shot by Ros I said 'Yes!' When Lucas said 'You disgust me', I said 'Yes!' When Lucas found her dead with a shot in the head, I said 'Oh Yes! Yes! Yes!' Was it just me or her eyes twinkled at CIA Europe operation's man (can't remember his name)in the scene at her hotel room??!? Her accent...hasn't improve and sounded even worse, to me, in comparison to the CIA guy. Her this-is-baaad-Lucas' voice grid on my nerves, she used it again with him when trying to convince him Lucas: Everytime he rejected her and seemed almost unaffected with evil witch I was so happy. Hurt a little too much when he said 'Give me a reason not to kill you', the pain in his voice... I think it showed the storyline was written as he had an attachment to her, on the other hand his head is now focused and knows that Sarah is just despicable, so he could enjoy Ros' teasing and keep with the interrogation/plan. Liked Ruth and Harry moments, when he smiled at her I was 'awww' and when she took his arm I couldn't help grinning I also thought Harry's look at Ruth and Tariq hwen they talk about the football game, was one of jealousy. Ruth and Tariq get on well and is nice to watch, don't think there could be anything more than friends though. HS was redeemed, hopefully he's alright, that would mean also Ros is fine. Please, oh please!!! Fingers crossed! LNF |

RE: Episode 8 Discussion
My initial thoughts, because sleep is eluding me still:
*How nice was it to see people SMILING???? Loved Ros and Lucas resuming their playful banter and how lovely was it to see Ruth going toe to toe with Harry? That's the Ruth I love, and he does too, I think. And she was absolutely right too. Even if he had turned out to be a bad guy, she was right to pull Harry in. I love Harry to bits, but he is a bit quick sometimes to jump to conclusions. *After lamenting on the season 8 thread that there were no choreographed hand to hand stunts this season, we get two in the final episode. Awesome. *Dear Alrick Riley - I love you and your work but for the first time this season I just did not buy the hand held camera. It sucked kaboodle. Often scenes with three or more people (like in the conference room or the HS' office) were shot from too many angles and just made it look rushed. *Speaking of which, the scene of the rooftop should have been better than it was. I suspect it was performed much more slowly and was then cut considerably so that the pacing was off. It also should have been done in close profile, without point of view shots for Harry and Ruth, it would have been better to just have the camera on them both at the same time. The scene could have spoken for itself. Honestly, I preferred the office scene. And yes, Tea Lady, Harry *definitely* looked her up and down. Twice. Be still, my beating heart. *Great episode for Ros and HN. She was stellar in her last scene in the hallway, managing to make you laugh and cry at the same time. She loves the physical stuff as an actress, and if she did just get killed off, then it was a damn fine way for her to go. My favourite line of the episode: "The only thing I regret about death is not being there to see it." Great script from Ben Richards, one of his best. He knows how to bring a season home. *I liked that we were guessing about the Home Sec right up until the lat second with the injection. Those glances between him and Price's boys made me, at least, think he might be involved. It was only after the injection that you knew for sure who he was. And how great was his moment with Ros in the hallway talking about sacking Harry? Lecherous to the end. (I did pick which line pissed Harry off the most though, so I'm happy about that.) And him trying to crack onto Ros was so funny, especially in comparing Harry to his dad. *Great Lucas storyline too. He has a lot of trouble putting his emotions in a box, much more so than any of the other male heroes we've seen on the show. He is his own worst enemy. This character still has so many stories in him, I really hope we get more of that. That's it for now. But I'm sure I'll have other stuff to add, I always do Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Episode 8 Discussion
"All men are brothers. That's why we cry for people we don't know." Ruth had the best line.
If I had been Ruth in that scene with Tariq, I would have kissed him on the top of his head. I take my opportunities when I see them. Of course, it would have been a I was still rolling my eyes at Lucas' behavior with Sarah. Maybe it's just me but once I know someone is a cold blooded killer and in favor of ethnic cleansing, it kills the love. So does this mean Spoiler: show Rooftop scene: Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away. Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!" Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas." |

RE: Episode 8 Discussion
I don't know... once again I had a conversation with my mum about Spooks as soon as I got up (it's great when parents do this ) and she thought that perhaps Ros had got the other side of the building, so she could still be alive.
Ros certainly did have some of the best bits in that episode Going to have to re-watch it soon. DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |
