RE: Arrival of Ruth
I've rewatched this episode yesterday, and I love Harry's laugh there.
I like that: Sam says "Bonkers" and Danny answers "but brilliant". It's a good definition of her "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt" Pactum serva |

RE: Arrival of Ruth
I thought Danny said "Bonkers", then Zoe said "bu Brilliant".
??? Oh well either way i think that was a rather funny scene. I always feel sorry for Ruth in that scene though because it's her first day and she's fighting a desk lamp. (Embarrassing somewhat? I think so). Codename Kirayuki: Vid Maker. H/R & Ruth fan. |

RE: Arrival of Ruth
I cringed for her in that scene. Not a good moment.
DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

RE: Arrival of Ruth
That's the sort of dopey thing I'd do.
Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Arrival of Ruth
I think I wouldn't have bothered to change the desk lamp, but I would have tripped over everyone's feet

RE: Arrival of Ruth
It was different start, different from other characters, all were very confident and fit in the Grid, and Ruth... very enthusiastic but clumpsy, and it was difficult for her to fit... poor Ruth

RE: Arrival of Ruth
The great thing about her in this episode is that she's oblivious to the effect she creates and is very enthusiastic about what she does; she doesn't seem to feel that she doesn't fit.
On a fashion note, I'm glad they lost the coat with the big white shaggy fur collar from Blood and Money... and good old Tom for giving her a second chance. " Harry is a pugilist for the State, but he's a lover, not a fighter " - Peter Firth

RE: Arrival of Ruth
If Tom hadn't given her a second chance then i think the whole show would have been SO different.
I can't imagine the show without Ruth anymore. Codename Kirayuki: Vid Maker. H/R & Ruth fan. |

RE: Arrival of Ruth
I lover Ruth,
Spoiler: show Lucas North: Your situation is more precarious than you realize, Connie, so stop pressing buttons and give us something. Connie James: Threats don't work with a person who has nothing to lose. Lucas North: Oh, you're too ingenious to think that I'm threatening you. I'm offering you a simple choice: help us or don't. I'll leave you to compute the implication. |

God, I'd forgotten that coat, what a nightmare that was. Ruth did bring a refreshing humor to the grid (sometimes in a not-so-good way) and I absolutely loved that scene with the lamp. "What is the truth?" "Betrayal is a cancer. Let it eat your soul, not mine." "Please tell me this isn't going where I think it's going." |
