Episode 4 Discussion

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
Yeah, I thought that was funny, but after re watching it a few times (!!) I think he moves the sheet because it is between him and Sarah.
The boiler suit scene was interesting as it showed the hold Oleg still had over Lucas. It was a way to dominate Lucas and make him feel as if he was back in prison again.

We're never going to hear the end of episode 4 are we - why do I have the feeling that the boiler suit screen will be dragged up for months to come Tongue

I agree, it did clearly show Oleg's control over Lucas. I think it also would have made Lucas slightly more submissive as he changed from his ordinary clothes to a boiler suit, perhaps because it would have been a symbol of his interrogation, and so Oleg was bringing Lucas back to the past to strengthen his hold on him.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

We need an excuse to re watch again and again and ....... We need to make sure we have fully understood the episode completely, think of it more like research Wink

Exactly! Oleg and Lucas' relationship is very complex so it needs more researching Silba

I don't think if Oleg said something like, 'CIA, be careful who you trust' it would've been too revealing. To that point, Nightingale was barely mentioned, we just saw Sarah kill Walker, so I think that line could've been taken as something we already knew (Sarah's evil, she's into something fishy, BE CAREFUL Exclamation ) but Lucas needed to be aware of.
Whether Lucas would seriously consider the advice or not is another thing... You think if Oleg mentioned her name or just said CIA, Lucas would have asked her later 'to stay'?
After all, IMO , that's the breaking point, when Lucas' view of 'them' changes from play to something else Dodgy

But plus that, all Oleg had overheard was Sarah telling her CIA boss (or so he thought) that she was bugging Lucas. He didn't know she was part of Nightingale. He was just telling him to be careful of everyone, especially Sarah, but not because he necessarily knew her to be part of the Basel group.

Research? Rolleyes Oh dear.

That's a good point - he's warning Lucas perhaps because he knows that Sarah was going to bug Lucas, and so is warning Lucas that be careful who you trust, even if you love them you may not be able to trust them.

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
I don't think Oleg knew about Sarah being part of Nightingale, he just knew that the there was a meeting of security agents and (possibly) they were planning changes. He assumed Lucas would be involved in defeating any such plot and therefore in potential danger. As Oleg "cared" about Lucas he was genuinely warning him not to trust anyone.

I do wish we had seen more of what happened between Oleg and Lucas in prison, how their relationship developed, because in the end Oleg trusted Lucas.

yeah, and look what it got him. I'm not too sure though that he trusted him completely, he would have been in the game long enough to know better. (would that be reverse Stockholm syndrome?)
Maybe he had a death wish...

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
I'm sorry if it's been mentioned before... is the 'tower', where Walker asked Sarah if she was sleeping with Lucas and where she killed Walker, the same place where the SFB was running its operation in 7.8?

I got this impression when rewatching this scene with Sarah walking in and Walker chewing gum, those wide windows at the bottom, reminded me of 7.8....
