She's such a gentle, caring person. I love that Ruth doesn't like to see people in pain and takes the trouble to helps them if she can.

Same here. Most people would have just let Maudsley go for a start rather than follow him to give him change. It's heartbreaking that it was ultimately her kindness and generosity that 'ruined' her life that day.

I found Nicola Walker's views on Ruth very funny. She once said that she thought Ruth would be fantastic company at a party, as she would undoubtedly drink too much and then flirt with all the wrong people. Suddenly I'm hoping Ruth and Harry are seeing in the new year together, and that there is lots of alcohol.

I thought it was rather amusing when Nicola said she didn't think Ruth would be reading Austen on the bus. Someone else (Can't remember who) said "But how many times can you read Frankenstein?", NW replied "Ruth thought that too".
