That Times article makes it look very promising that there will be another series. It seems weird that the BBC haven't officially announced it yet though.. but they have no reason to get rid of it at this stage. It still performs strongly and is a seriously regarded drama - if the BBC wants to keep up a good reputation, they need to keep Spooks embedded in the schedule in my opinion.

I would like to sincerley thank everyone for keeping a distant ( Western Australia ) Spooks addict informed regarding a possible series 9. As with other contributors to the forum I will adopt a positive attitude and will look forward to Spring ( Autumn in the UK ) for the return of the highest quality drama produced for television in the world.

Ya' know, maybe they figure that since a couple of the actors have let it slip and the media has announced that s9 is going to happen, they don't have to. Or maybe they've just forgotten they haven't made an official public announcement?? I'm assuming something went out to the media outlets already.
