Yes I know, Guy doesn't really evoke the word 'poppet' but it's a word that jumps into my head whenever I think of RA........

I rarely have use for "poppet" but if you were to share even 1 hour of my day you'd be sick of "muppet".. as I am sick of the people deserving that description. It's a rather good word though, you can properly spit it out.. and it's not as offensive as some of my four-letter choices

I more often use 'moose', 'mollusc', 'amoeba' and (if I'm in a very agitated mood) 'dactylic hexameter with a catelexis' (or something to that extent)...

However, 'dibunophyllum bipartitum', 'retrograde inversion' and several not-quite Shakespearian insults like 'pestilent hedge-born wagtail' have also featured.

(If you were wondering how I remember them all, I recently had a little 'Shakespearian insult' war with a couple of friends, and I still have all the texts

gee you must have a really good memory and quick tongue
I need to get them out fast before I forget who or what ignited my ire so I stick to words of 3 syllables or fewer (unless I need to really vent my anger in which case I use 9 of them as adjectives and add a four-letter noun )

...and before we get reminded to stay OT - I quite liked some of the sheriff's insults in Robin Hood.. and Keith Allen delivered them so brilliantly. Quite like Nickolas Grace in "Robin of Sherwood"...
