Cattrall was wonderful; she looked stunning! Her accent only slipped once and she suited the stage and had more presence than MM. There was a great moment where she was eating brioche towards the front of the stage and she was supposed to split it out as MM made her jump. Instead of just dropping to the stage, the brioche bits came out about 100 miles an hour and the front two rows of the audience got covered. Cattrall clasped her hand to her mouth and burst out laughing at the rather posh looking lady on the front row, sitting with a peice of brioche on her head! |

Not a Coward fan at all, I'm afraid.
I can see her being good in that role actually too. It's interesting you raise the point of her corpsing onstage though, as when Laurence Olivier played MM's role back in the 30s just as his career was taking off, Coward used to do everything he could think of opposite him to try and test Olivier, trying to get him to break his giggling habit. It eventually worked. OK, that's me getting off topic and showing off my dorky knowledge of completely useless theatre trivia. Glad you enjoyed it Tea Lady. I'm looking forward to hearing reviews of Hedda Gabler when HellsBells and YFM check in after seeing it. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

My little ears may deceive me but I think Miranda Raison is doing the voiceover for the new Times Newspaper advert on the TV in the UK. I dont know if anyone else has seen it and can confirm?
During the space of one TV programme yesterday that I was watching, there was this Times Advert, then there was RA doing the voiceover for the new Alfa Romeo car advert and to put the cherry on top of the cake there was that blinking Go-Cat advert with PF. I thought that had gone away! Anyway, at least I got to hear the voices of all three within an hour. |

I dont particularly like JR so try and avoid him. MM has a great voice and I'm glad his play is doing so well. It really is worth going to see. Hate the fact JR says "Wobin Wood".... |

Yeah I know what you mean about Jonathan Ross, but radio 2 tends to be on constantly in our house. I couldn't believe it when I heard MM, such a distinctive, wonderful voice.

RE: [spoilers] Spooks Actors - New Projects Thread
Wow that's a big role for him!
For any Aussies hanging around, Whitechapel is about to start on Friday night on the ABC. It should be prime viewing and it got a great write-up in the NSW and Victorian press. I've noticed that Penry-Jones is very well liked by people at the Herald and The Age as most things he is in are usually written about and he is usually described as 'swoonworthy' or the like. My fave was a review of 6.6 where he was described as 'edible'. I think it also has Stephen Boxer from 8.5 in it. But don't quote me on that. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |
