Don't know if it been mentioned but at 9 on BBC 1 Matthew Macfadyen is in Enid, about Enid Blyton, with Helena Bonham Carter I think it was on bbc 4 last year but is being repeated

Haven't had a chance to read through all the thread so this may be a repeat...
Anyone else looking forward to seeing MM as the Sheriff - after hearing him describe the "evolution" of the role on JR (thank you ibbcplayer) and seeing the latest trailer ("Nail!") I can't wait to see Robin Hood on the big screen...well let's be honest, MM on the big screen... Thank you TygerBright for my fantastic av & sig! |

MM was talking in a radio interview a few weeks ago and said the part kept getting smaller and smaller with every redraft of the script. Maybe he was just being modest but I got the impression the sheriff will not be such an important character as you usally get in Robin Hood films/tv programmes. |

Yes, he said that at first he was killed by Cate Blanchett, then Mark Strong, and then some guy with sword...but MM decided to just go for it and played the sherriff BIG (like the wig/costume he has to wear) and Ridley Scott liked what he saw...so yes MM/Sherriff probably ends up on the cutting room floor...but still looking forward to MM in a different kinda role... Thank you TygerBright for my fantastic av & sig! |

RE: [spoilers] Spooks Actors - New Projects Thread
Dont forget to watch Blood & Oil tonight and tomorrow with DO and PF. On BBC2. (I've heard the first 5 minutes are pretty rubbish, but to stick with it. PF is in tomorrow's episode as the barfly.)

I can just see my husbands face when a lot of Spooks actors start turing up in Blood & Oil. He will start giving me evils... |

RE: [spoilers] Spooks Actors - New Projects Thread
I have also been excited for MM. It will definitely be his biggest project since P&P back in 2005.
Whitechapel got yet another great write-up in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age (Victoria) today. I swear, there is someone on that team of reviewers pulling for RPJ in particular, but they've also always been fans of Spooks. I have never seen Spooks get a bad or neutral review and that's unusual. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

Having watched Whitechapel I must say I'm rather impressed. Intriguing story, nice twists, some humour, and rather good acting, particularly by RPJ.. thought the end was a tad predictable though
