RE: Zoe Court Case
I just finished re-watching this. I think it worked well as one episode, however going from ep. 5 to 6 was very abrupt as others have said. I feel very teary eyed having re-watched both Tom's and Zoe's exits on the same day.

RE: Zoe Court Case
This is actually one of my favourite episodes. I really like the different way that they set it out, and for an exit, I thought it was really quite good. The scene at the end with Zoe and Danny turns me into a blubbering wreck everytime I watch it, particularly where she says

RE: Zoe Court Case
I tend to agree with YFM, it really could have done with being a background story over a few episodes, starting with the allegation, Zoe's inevitable suspension, lead up to the court case then the conclusion, which I must say was in true spooks tradition.... However I still can't understand how MI5 have worked out the science of Time Travel, magically spiriting Zoe back to 1984 with the new identity of Alex Drake.
Seriously it was a bit disjointed and I think that they could have made a good storyline from this that could still have had a lot of action and pace. I did give a cheer when Harry pointed out that "If Zoe went down, a few reputations would follow, as 5 knows where all of the bodies are buried" oh to have a boss like that! Unfortunately these days it is a requisite that to gain a management post you need first to undergo an operation to have your spine removed, and to make best use of the surgeon's talent, have your sense of right and wrong and any grain of staff loyalty cut out at the same time! I think the Danny and Zoe thing was handled very well in this episode, she would have been much better off with Danny than that other idiot Will. I think that they could have linked episode 5 to this by having Danny and Zoe discuss events of episode 5 and comparing it to Zoe's predicament. Episode 5 would have continued to have an effect on Danny and so some reference should have been made to it for continuity If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees. |

RE: Zoe Court Case
I remember watching the episode and thinking I had missed an episode. Now I have the DVDs I realise that I hadn't. I could not believe how quickly this case came to court we all know this type of trial can take months or years to come to court. And Zoe wasn't even going to appeal ?
I did like the episode (from what I remember, going to watch for the rewatch thread) but the way the whole case came out of the blue ruined slightly for me. RE: Zoe Court Case
Sorry bad experience of poor management in last job..... Shouldn't be bitter as life is now sweet as a result.. nothing like self employment, means I can watch Spooks all day

RE: Zoe Court Case
I think a lot of people thought they had skipped an episode here. My sister wasn't actually able to get this one to play on her machine and so went straight to episode 7 and was all agog, even though she knew Keeley was leaving. For me, it was lots of things about how quickly this went to trial and also because she and Will obviously hadn't been split up for tooooo long. Harry's Diary ballparks it at the beginning of April when everything blew up (four months after 3.5) but I don't buy that. I'm also willing to bet the Personnel File tell a different timeline.
Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Episode 6 Discussion [rewatch]
I've sorta merged the "Zoe Court Case" thread with this weeks rewatch discussion thread, seemed to make sense.
So just continue on from where that thread left off, then we can work in other aspects of the episode. Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

RE: Episode 6 Discussion [rewatch]
Oooh haha I got very confused for a minute (not hard lol)
I was thinking about this ep and the whole Zoe exit and I do have to say it is one of my favourites. I like how it is different to any other exit and although it is sad with the goodbye between Danny and Zoe, she does get her happy ending in the end ( which surely is a first time for Spooks? haha) |

RE: Episode 6 Discussion [rewatch]
That is very sad actually. I remember blubbing pretty hard the first time I saw that scene.
Keeley and David play the hell out of that scene. Definitely one of those scenes where it really helps to be friends with your co-worker, the emotional shorthand makes it a lot easier. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Episode 6 Discussion [rewatch]
Yeah what I find the saddest part is when Zoe says one day when it's all over Danny could come and visit
