I know what you're saying, and you're right that this is usually the way it goes, but maybe Spooks will do it differently. I think there is a lot of tension to be had from

struggling to make a relationship work in such a high-pressure work environment. I just hope that we don't get saddled with a love triangle scenario. I think that's such a lazy way to create tension, and such a cliche. So please, writers, spare us that! Also, as William_price said, when he met Peter Firth he said that Harry and Ruth would resume their relationship once Ruth came back.

So that gives me hope.

I suppose there will be some kind of problem between them, it's how series play with us to keep us hooked... that's true, but my only hope is that in the end they get together.

I love when Harry gets all crotchety about the budget, lol. It's a reminder that they are, after all, civil servants. Particularly this bit in season 2 when Danny goes undercover as a trader in a bank cracks me up:

HARRY: “He wants WHAT?”
TOM: “A flat. Danny’s convinced this woman is honey trapping him and she wants to go round to his flat this evening - his expensive banker’s flat, which he doesn’t have...”
HARRY: “I’ll need more than feely feely instincts to launch the budget on this operation into orbit!”

Later:
TOM: “So? Can we set up a trap for the girl?”
HARRY: “Oh, alright. But the budget won’t run to the Docklands shag-pad of Danny’s dreams. His flat will have to do. Send a team over to clean out Danny’s identity and tart it up.”
TOM: “We’ll have to make it convincing. High flying banker’s stuff.”
HARRY: “Within the budget.”
TOM: “Zoe will have to go to a hotel.”
HARRY: “Can’t she sleep on your floor or something?”

Poor Zoe!

Hi, its all about the actor. They also have photo stills for you to download from each episode of Spooks showing Harry. I guess the photos may give something away if you can read between the lines. All I can say is dont look at the photos if you have not seen the episode then.
