It is driving me mad, I watched the first episode of series 3 and am positive that he has been in another similar role but just can't place it...... Are you possibly thinking of "Whitechapel" or "The 39 Steps"? These are more recent projects Rupert Penry-Jones has been in as a detective/spy character. Or there was also "Burn Up" where he plays an oil executive but there is definite "cloak & dagger" parts to the movie. BTW "Cambridge Spies" is excellent!!! Thank you TygerBright for my fantastic av & sig! |

RE: Spooks Actors--former projects thread
I watched episode 2 of series 3 again last night, I think that I am getting him confused with one of the detectives on Wire In The Blood, iI think that it is the "designer stubble" that threw me. But thanks for trying to put me out of my misery, having said that having now got the Actor's name I do still think he is familiar. Some spook I would make! should be able to recognise somebody straight away!

RE: Spooks Actors--former projects thread
I have just finished watching the three episodes of Whitechapel and it was well worth it. RPJ was quite good in it, although I don't think it really tested his acting skills too much. He plays a high flying DI with OCD who tries to solve a simple murder case to get promoted but then realises there is a serial killer on the loose. I would look out for it on ITV3 if you have not already seen it.
I have just purchased Cambridge Spies on DVD for a few quid with RPJ. This is next on the list to watch. |

You might be interested to know that there will be another series of Whitechapel dealing with the Krays and the 1960s filming later this year. The three main characters will all return. http://www.itv.com/drama/copsandcrime/wh...fault.html We move on from this It's the realisation that I make a negligible difference Sometimes you have to give a man a chance |

I totally agree Condor. I've never even bothered to watch an episode with Alex (Simone) in it - Wire in the Blood without Carol just doesn't seem right. I didn't know that Aria, thanks. I just thought this was a one off series. I found watching Steve Pemberton in this sort of thing a little strange as I have only ever seen him in Benidorm playing the English "Chav." He is great though as was Phil Davis. |

RE: Spooks Actors--former projects thread
I saw RPJ in Persuasion the other day! I've had the DVD a while, but I didn't want to watch it until I had read the book first (not an easy thing to wait for when RPJ is in question!)
Having finally seen it, I loved it Not quite up there with North and South and the 2005 Pride and Prejudice with MM in my ratings of perios dramas, but it was still very enjoyable, and he was (as always) brilliant. (And pretty to look at ) Also recently saw Keeley in The Bank Job - she makes a lovely mum The scene where she's holding her sleeping daughter is so lovely Av & sig by TygerBright, using my screencaps |

Interesting to pick up some of the same looks and mannerisms she uses in Spooks. She was brilliant. I got drawn in by Robson Green and moved on from Touching Evil to Wire in the Blood. And to my eternal joy I found HN playing a main role (at least in the first 3 series). Quite some Ros in that character already |

RE: Spooks Actors--former projects thread
Just saw Nicola Walker in Jonathan Creek, episode 2.06. Not an amazing performance, but interesting storyline.
