Thank you Smile

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: Sir Harry Pearce
I'm currently rewatching series 3, and really enjoyed 3.4 where Harry's daughter Catherine gets drawn into one of their operations. It allowed us to see the softer side of Harry, and that he is not at all as good at keeping personal feelings separated from work as he likes to think.

I really laughed at the scene where Harry asks Danny to speak to his daughter and wear a wire, so that Harry can listen in. Harry is just so out of his comfort zone in that scene, it's really funny. And Danny's reaction was also priceless, he knows he is on a hiding to nothing and can't do anything about it. Sigh, I miss Danny.

Funnily enough I am rewatching series 3. Havnt seen it in years. Yes it is a good episode and that scene with Danny, Harry is so awkward and cant sit straight. I have also read the script for that episode on this site and it suggests that the team were surprised when Harry mentioned his divorce, that they didnt know. Fancy having to live a life where you cant tell anyone you work with what is going on in your private life.

Or chose not to. No one really knew about Ruth's family either, excluding Harry who'd read her file. And Adam never tells the truth about his family. Maybe in a job where nothing is secret, keeping something back about your family is normal.

RE: Sir Harry Pearce
Yeah, I agree with almh, I think Harry basically chose not to tell them. Although, to be fair, most of them might not have worked with him at the time of the divorce, so maybe the topic just never came up. Harry doesn't seem to have many personal or non-work related conversations with his staff (with the obvious exception of Ruth). Which is probably a good thing - in their pressurised work-environment it is perhaps better that the boss has a little distance between himself and the people he regularly orders to risk their lives.

RE: Sir Harry Pearce
So, having seen the blurb in the TV mag about
Spoiler: show
the team receiving footage of Harry's execution
what do you all think Harry's chances of survival are?

And on a more shallow note, loved
Spoiler: show
seeing Harry all bloodied and handcuffed! Thud

RE: Sir Harry Pearce
Well,
Spoiler: show
Harry has got to survive as Spooks wont survive if he is written out. He really is the main character now and has been since series 3. Unless he wanted to leave of course but I cant see them writing out the main character. Yes Adam was popular but his character had been explored to the tenth degree whereas Harry, he is still a closed book in many departments and there is still more to learn. The scenes between him and Ruth were some of the best in the whole series and when Ruth left, some of the humour went out of the series as well. I dont quite see the point of bringing Ruth back if Harry is killed off. If the Russians had simply wanted Harry dead they would have just shot him there and then but he is too valuble for all the information he has and would be kept alive as long as possible. So as long as he is alive he can be rescued.

Agreed, Harry is Spooks!

In honour of the new season starting, maybe we should list all the things we love about Harry. I'll start us off with this one:

I love that Harry has a dog that he cuddles and speaks to like it can understand him or answer back. Big Grin

RE: Sir Harry Pearce
Oooh thats a good idea....

1) Yes the little doggy, wasnt her name Scarlet?
2) The way he says to Ruth "Ruth get me the Home Secretary on a secure line." Cant wait to hear that again.
