RE: Status 2.0
I was 11 and just coming home from school when I saw it on the news. I didn't even know what the WTC was before that day. I recognised the buildings though.
Never forget where I was for 7/7 either. Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

RE: Status 2.0
I was in a hotel room in Tallahassee getting ready to go out to meet with a client for 7/7. I think that almost freaked me out as much as 9/11. Mostly because no matter what you're not truly able to defend against that type of attack. And the thoughts of children being on that train haunt me.

RE: Status 2.0
I was actually going to meet my dad from the station for 7/7. He'd been in Londond not one hour previously, and it was only because his conference call had finished early that he got that train back, and not a later one.
I don't remember for 9/11 though exactly, I just vaguely remember watching the news for it. Av & sig by TygerBright, using my screencaps |

RE: Status 2.0
On 7/7 I was at work in the City of London. My friend turned up late, in a bit of a panic saying she had just watched 15 ambulances in a row drive by her. It was then we all realised that something had happened. Then there was an annoucement that no one was allowed to leave the building as there had been an incident and a head count was done. Of course we found out about an hour later what had actually happened. The scary thing was that hardly anyones mobile phone worked for hours. They said they never shut the network down, but I question that.

RE: Status 2.0
I think they did say that only emergency calls were being accepted through the mobile networks for most of london.

Oh right yeh, it was for a short time. So then its most likely that the networks collapsed under the amount of calls going in and out of london.

That is what happened here. They told us (later) that it was due to traffic. I was desperately trying to get a hold of my husband who was on the way to work on Ellis Island (off the tip of lower Manhattan) - too close for comfort. We were some of the lucky ones - we were in New Jersey. I have several friends who ran for their lives and are lucky to be alive. As for 7/7, it happened early enough in the morning for you guys that we woke up to the news. The feeling of sympathetic powerlessness was the prevailing emotion. Thanks guys. From great evil can come great good. The US was dragged out of our bubble that day. Whether or not we can stop ourselves from reconstructing it is a constant challenge. I (dare I say we?) know the rest of the world has been experiencing this kind of tragedy too. Raining today.... Now cracks a noble heart. RE: Status 2.0
Just managed to annoy my dad for the second time this weekend. Great. Can't wait for school.
DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |
