RE: Connie
I found Connie a bit confusing in series 7. She was so kind to Jo after the market bombing but then to kill Ben like that was so cold and heartless.

RE: Connie
Connie's character was excellent: her knowledge and sharp mind concealed that she was "the mole'...Maybe Harry rehabilitated Connie because he needed her skills? Harry initiated her 'return' to the fold. I've often wondered though, did Harry suspect all along that Connie was "dodgy". In bringing Connie back in the way that he did was Harry looking at the "long term" and thought that Connie would show her hand one day, as she inevitably did. What do other people think? The portrayl of Connie by Gemma Jones was brilliant: human and believable. This is what I love about the characters in Spooks, they all have such 'human qualities'. Hell's Bells mentions above that Connie was so caring and kind to Jo; yet when cornered by Ben she did not hesitate to 'do her duty' to her Russian masters and attempt to avoid being exposed.

RE: Connie
At first I couldn't stop thinking of Bridget Jones' mother every time I saw her lol
She's a great actress and made me forget her previous character in this film, I liked the way she was presented to the team, as an old asset returning to the Grid. She was a good replacement to Ruth (as good as she could be, obviously, for me Ruth is irreplaceable) She was a bit strange I supose that was because she was a lonely lady, I liked her and trusted her I was very surprised when she turned to be a traitor, though in the end was obvious, with all her odd looks... I agree with HellsBells, Connie was confusing "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt" Pactum serva |

Seconded Gemma Jones is an amazing actress. Now whenever I watch Harry Potter I keep yelling 'it's Connie!!!'

RE: Connie
Agreed all round, great character, brilliant performance. Part of the fun of re-watching season 7 was to watch Connie much closer. There's all these little looks and clues that I missed the first time round, that had much greater meaning on second viewing once you know the full story.

RE: Connie
I know what you mean. Once I had watched the last episode of season 7, I had to watch it all again just to see if there were any hints that Connie was a traitor.
