RE: Series 9 Episode 2 discussion
I've just rewatched the episode for the first time and I think my favourite scene was when Harry confronted Westhouse(?) at Foxhills. PF's acting is superb, his delivery is soft but assertive and you're in no doubt who's in charge. It's a very clever scene.
You see lots of great moments from him, such as when he's watching either Lucas or Ruth out of the corner of his eyes in the briefing session the morning after the tete-a-tete. Also, during THAT phone call, his face as he asks Ruth if there is anything else, and she eventually says no. Heartbreaking expression at this point. Peter Firth is pure class!! |

I would imagine that "John" stole Lucas North's identity in Africa - a background check on Lucas North when John joined MI5 would have come back clear. On the wardrobe front, I agree that Beth's looking particularly frumpy and I'm missing Lucas' blue tshirts - does his promotion mean a switch to smarter shirts? RIP clingy tshirts |

On that note, am I the only one who thinks that Five's background checks are getting shoddy? Lucas AND Beth?
Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

Well to be honest, I'm not quite sure they were that good to begin with considering the number of "traitors" and "moles" that have been running around over 8 series. Reminds me of the Top Gear interview that Peter Firth and Rupert Penry-Jones were on when they were asked about how there is always a mole and "why don't you ever notice?" Peter's reaction always cracks me up.....it was like he was almost trying to explain but then realize there was no satisfactory explanation...lol RIP Carter Hall ~ Hawkman |

After the bit with the fingerprint my husband chuckled 'see what happens when you leave your skanky wineglasses around and not put the dishwasher on'. That's a little harsh on poor Ruffie. Her wine glass was about 4 foot tall, so probably didn't fit in the dishwasher and Beth had used up all the Fairy Liquid, washing the blood and brains from her finger nails. What was Ruth to do with the dirty glass?? |

I'm not going into detail or I'll get into trouble.....just wanted to say that the actual production is light years ahead of last year........
Photography and direction are superb and the writing is in a different league.......it just seems more alive! I'm loving it! |

RE: Series 9 Episode 2 discussion
I think the line about the Grid being betrayal and lies free was to set the angst for Lucas next actions (dealing with Vaughn and his past).
When I saw the handshake, I understood it as Harry telling Lucas ‘That’s what I wanted to hear’ for stepping up for the job. Sounds as in a -perhaps edited scene- Harry proposed Lucas to take the lead and just now he was accepting. The 2 lifts scene was pretty cool. I know I’m being picky but the Colombian’s Spanish sounded a bit weird, for example I didn’t recognize the ‘Is she dead?’ sentences until Ruth says ‘in spanish’. I thought they are british born, with spanish speaking parents or maybe it’s just that they were shouting and trying to sound threatening… or is it just me? Bea? I want Tariq to have more screen time, his line about sharks made me giggle. He looked as he wanted to be in his bed sleeping. Could John be an identity he adopted at the time he knew Vaughn and Maya? If he took Lucas North name from another man, I think MI-5 has to know, maybe Harry knows, only there are little details he *doesn’t know*… Quote:Jhyde: Harry when he's quiet and lethal is chilling"Beautifully said! Loved Lucas black t-shirt when he looked up Maya on his laptop LNF PS: I just realized that by the end of this season I might have to change my name from LucasNorthFan to JohnXXFan |

A convoluted circle of relationships, but then again, who am I kidding, this is Lucas's life, it's destined to be convoluted! All I know is that Lucas's gonna make me worry sick or just run around my dorm room like a decapitated chicken! I'll be lucky to be still breathing by the end of this series...
