RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
I actually like her- totally different to Ros so brings change we needed. I did like Ros too but a new character has to be different from who he/she "replaces".

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
I felt this was Beth's best episode. Very good acting throughout especialy when she realised (but hadn't really) messed up with the asset and when she was first into the meeting room. She seems to be really trying.
Also loved her response to Ruth when Ruth was giving her the serious senior recruit lecture. "Bloody hell, I can see why they don't let you write the prospectus." LOL. A great unexpected comeback. |

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
I agree that 9.4 was Beth's best episode so far. She seemed really gutted when she thought that Kai had been playing to her all along (conveniently forgetting that she had been doing the same to him) and her line to Kai of looking the scientist in the face when he shoots her was powerfully delivered. Also loved the Ruth/Beth scene.
Anybody else thought that Beth and Dimitri seemed to have a bit of a flirty thing going on? We move on from this It's the realisation that I make a negligible difference Sometimes you have to give a man a chance |

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
Beth so desperately wants to succeed at this. I really love that we are watching her learn the ropes. I liked the exchange with Kai when she tells him that this is the first time she has ever turned someone as well as her mentor exchanges with Dimitri, Lucas and Ruth.
There is a niggling question in my mind about why she wants to succeed at this so very much: is it really just to feel clean again? Or does she have something to prove? I didn't see a flirty thing with her and Dimitri. I kind of saw a friendly competition. I sort of hope that "colleagues are enough" for them. Now cracks a noble heart. RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
I like it that she seems a little out of her depth sometimes. Other times she copes quite well. I think she is learning fast that you often have to think on your feet in that job and second guess what the other person is going to do, before they do it. I don't think she likes Dimitri in that way. In fact I am not sure what type of person Beth would go for.

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
During my 9.1 and 9.2 re-watch I had a couple little 20/20 hindsight epiphany moments for Beth esp. as it relates to Lucas. Mostly disjointed and somewhat vague.
1) In 9.2, Vaughan is to Lucas as Chapman is to Beth? 2) Beth smuggled drugs in Columbia and Lucas smuggled drugs in Senegal. Starting both down their mercenary roads. I found it interesting that Lucas challenges her motives with that fact in 9.1. I think it indicative of his trying to do the right thing as Lucas. 3) Does Lucas fight to keep Beth on the team because he sees himself in her? He is giving her a second chance as he got with MI5, despite the route he took to get there. Like Harry with him, he has a vested interest in making Beth work. 4) Beth chooses a very different route to "get clean." Lucas chooses to keep hiding it all. Or she just gets caught and Lucas doesn't. You could argue that relatively speaking, Beth and Lucas' past actions are not on par with each other on the evil-ness scale. But, how do we know that? We do not know all we could know about Beth. Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks]; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. ~Wm. Shakespeare, Hamlet |

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
Actually, Beth smuggled guns in Colombia, not drugs, and under the illusion that she was helping some revolutionary wannabe fight for freedom. However, as she says, when she became aware he was no Che Guevara she sold him out.
I liked Beth's introduction, and I liked her in the episode with the Chinese agent. However, for the rest of the time I felt the character lacked something, and it has to do with the performance, which I found rather wooden. She came over a little bland, and even in the final episode the performance didn't inspire me to feel that Beth is really devoted to Lucas and thus very shocked at what was happening. I'm hoping that as the character hopefully gets fleshed out more and gets more to do in season 10, the performance will also improve. |

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
I just find Beth (and Dimitri) very adorable! They're like the new kids and trying to get their heads around this nuthouse that is MI5. To me, Dimitri and Beth seems to have more of a friendly or sibling-like rivalry, they seem to look out for each other and know to stick together. It's kinda cute to watch!

RE: [Spoilers] Beth Bailey
I noticed that Beth did indeed start out as a good strong character, but this just drifted in later episodes to the point she was practically in the background. There was definitely chemistry between her and Lucas to begin with, but I don't feel it played out to the end of the series. I not sure if this was bad writing or bad acting.
