Thanks for posting Naivety. Very interesting to read about her earlier years. I have taped The Hour, it's supposed to be pretty good.

I am going to see Anna Chancellor later this month in double bill of two one act plays - The Browning Version and South Downs. The Browning Version is a Terence Rattigan play and South Downs is a complementary piece by David Hare commisioned by the Rattigan Trust. Anna is in both but I don't have a clue who she is playing. They are on at the Minerva Theatre, part of the Chichester Festival Theatre and the venue is very small and intimate. Really looking forward to it as I have enjoyed Anna's work since Four Weddings. Will report back if folks are interested.

Yes please, watchstrap! Anna Chancellor is one of the best of her generation. She was actually one of the reasons I started watching Spooks in the first place.

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks];
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

That sounds great Watchstrap. Would love to hear more. I got excited reading your post but alas it's a little too far for me to travel.

The Real Jane Austen

I caught this programme on BBC4 late last night, Anna Chancellor narrated and is apparently Jane Austens great niece, about 7 or 8 times removed. This 'docu- type drama' was very enjoyable, even had clips of Peter Firth in Northanger Abbey! Smile
Well worth catching....its to be shown again on Sunday, 19.10 on BBC4

AC is the 8 times great niece of Jane Austen's through her elder brother, Edward Knight. Edward was the third child/son of the Austen's. He was adopted by some childless cousins and inherited an estate from them.

The Northanger Abbey PF is in is hilarious! Especially his last scene through the mist on his trusty steed. He is my favorite Henry Tilney to date though.

New series started this week in the UK called Pramface. Although I've never seen the film, I think it's based on the film Juno. Anna Chancellor is in it and plays the neurotic bi*ch mother of the girl that gets pregnant. It's very funny (and a little rude in places.) I'd recommend it. Smile
