RE: Series 10 - Episode 2 Discussion
I really enjoyed Sundays episode you could tell from the start of the episode it wasnt going to end well for someone with all the intense music. Extremly sad that Tariq was killed off but thats spooks for you. I was nearly in tears at the end with Tariq realising what had happened to him and then dying outside thames house Sad I did like the fact it was Calum who found him and tried to save him.

I really like the character of Calum and again his relationship with Dimintri is interesting and funny to watch. Loved when Tariq gave his speech to Calum with Dimitri looking on then noding at the end of it as if to say "fair play" for putting him in his place. Dimitri really coming into his own this series reminds me bit of Lucas and Adam mixed together. Really not sure about Erin i just dont get her character really she seems bit meh still to me.

Theres something going on with Ruth and i feel bit sorry for her as she can see how Elena if effecting Harry.

Overall i think it was a great episode and really annoyed with the writing being soooooo good that it is the last series Sad

Why would Ruth betray Harry? Out of revenge for his 30 years-old affair with a probable Russian double agent? Out of revenge for the loss of George and Nico? I thought that we finally got rid of them.

She is a brilliant analysist and wants to know what's Harry hidding. She knows that there is more to Harry's past than Sasha. A very dirty secret would be the death of agents because Harry got involved with Elena. She also wants to find out who is the impersonator. She is going to investigate Harry's past to pinpoint exactly what went wrong. If she finds some dodgy dealings that would threaten the realm , she will confront Harry and if she does not get any satisfying answers, she will contact the HS.

I do not think that Kudos would destroy Ruth's character. It might can a surprise to some, but she is nearly more beloved than Harry. Kudos is thinking bottom line and the sale of their DVDs. As we heard over and over, Harry's past might destroy Harry and Ruth and by that not only their love but the trust between them. The impersonator wants the total destruction of Harry, both professionally and emotionally.

Who could have so much hate towards Harry?

I did see the bloodied hand but who is to say that was Lucas' hand as dont forget in ep1 when H & R were leaving Harrys hearing Ruth said to Harry that Lucas' body was found where Vaughn said it would be.

didn't we see some of Lucas's tats on the hand ?

Some more thoughts about this ep. Apologies if anything had been said before.

If Callum locked the brief-case with his fingerprint, how did Elliot manage to open it? Someone had his finger print copied (we've seen it before on Spooks, more than once) or maybe Callum is part of the plot against MI5? Whomever that is, it's someone who knows a lot about section D: not just Harry, but also Callum, Tariq - so they probably know a lot about Ruth, too, and Erin.

If the woman who gave Elliot the case was Elena, then she maybe the one behind the fake messages to Harry, for a reason of her own not yet known to us. Maybe someone is posing as Elena. On the other hand, it's very difficult to be a spy, with such a red flaming hair.

Where did Erin go between her leaving Martha at the safe house for the first time and meeting Harry at Elliot's?

Why didn't poor Tariq call Harry again from a pay-phone, or some other phone not bugged by the bad guys?

Why doesn't Sasha get a hair cut?

I couldn't help but wonder, at the second mention fo Erin's daughter - who is the girl's father? Is his identity significant in any way to the plot?

I thought this episode was better than the first one.
I was very shocked to see Tariq die, I didn't see that coming.
As for Harry's meeting with Elena and than the killing of the FSB agent; this was brilliantly done imo. I loved the ballet, the music and the way Harry and Elena talked as a bizar contrast to the killing. And of course the fact that Elena stated that Sasha is like Harry in some ways...

I only saw the changing in the titles the second time I watched this episode; I must ask my husband to keep quiet next Sunday so I can concentrate a bit more Wink

The daughter will probably grow up to be 6ft tall, have blue eyes, and black hair, and turn out to be Harry's in 30 years time Wink

Perhaps someone can answer this as I have only watched the episode once on a very dark TV, but did Sasha change his mind about dumping the body and leave it in the boot? I think that's what he did. If so, isn't Harry's DNA going to be all over it???

I don't think he had the body in the boot, I thought it was only the guy's personal effects he'd collected from his room that was in the boot, but I could be wrong. I don't think it would have been wise for him to drive around with the body itself all day before dumping it. Harry probably called in MI5 clean-up experts to get rid of the body itself. Or maybe they just stuck him in a little hole under the stage...

Hah! Big Grin

Probably. The smell would be no different than that of the men's dressing room. Have you ever been in a dancers dressing room? Trust me. It might as well be the locker room for Arsenal! Thud Wink

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks];
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
