Got several good shots of it in the scene where's he's cleaning up in the bathrrom. Continuity error? "What is the truth?" "Betrayal is a cancer. Let it eat your soul, not mine." RE: Episode 2 Discussion
It took me a long time to warm up to Ros but now she has me wrapped around her little finger for life. I'd guess the character is keeping a low profile while the other stories and new characters get a chance to take root.
Just noticed in this episode how big Jo's eyes are. Yikes! I also can't stand the CIA agent. Even after she got kissed, she delivered her line with the same smug face. I think he is just using her for info. Lucas the character is a good actor and he seemed a little too entranced with her while she was just stone cold. So, I think he's still on the job. (Couldn't stand the first CIA blond either but I just saw the actress in Sword of Honour and she is solid.) Maybe it's just a case of nobody is good enough for our Tom or our Lucas. Tariq is gorgeous. He looks like a model I shot in New York about 10 years ago. Love the type. Please don't give him a shave and a haircut. Please. I don't know how I got sucked into watching this series as I can't stand violence and have spent my life avoiding shows like this. All of the deaths have been horrible. If they could go just one episode without someone getting killed, not counting the bad guys, that would be nice. And, if we never see the inside of a Mosque again or a suicide vest, that'll be too soon. Rooftop scene: Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away. Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!" Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas." |

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
First, I haven't read every post in this thread so if I repeat something previously said - my apologies.
I have just watched ep 1 & 2 on the internet (as I am in NZ we don't have it yet). I have enjoyed them, and am loving seeing Ruth back. I like that Jo seems to be growing her hair again, I didn't like it really short, (but I didn't like it really long either). Anyway, I hope to see Harry and Ruth move along, as like many (all?) of you I think they belong together. As with many here I really don't like the new CIA agent, and definitely don't like her with Lucas! As someone already mentioned Lucas seems to be smarter than that! I have been enjoying the show and do like Tariq, but am missing Malcolm. I don't know why they couldn't keep Malcolm and bring in Tariq and have two techie guys like in the good old days of Malcolm and Colin. I agree with the post that said they would love to see Malcolm and Tariq together - it would be so great! |

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Sorry if someone has already said this (18 pages - seriously?!) but as having recently discovered Tazbekistan doesn't exist (yes another geography a level student who didn't know that one lol) I was wondering why they used a fake country? Cos I don't think they ever have before and it is not as if they were ever worried about making countries look bad before? Like with USA and Iran?

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Could be any number of reasons.. I reckon it IS because of making looking countries look bad.. that and the fact that the story things true with our current energy crisis.. we will be dependant on similar "real" countries..
Maybe they thought it was a bad idea to use a real country, in case the government REALLY is depending on THAT country.. if that makes sense? Sig & Av Guidelines | Rules | Spoiler Policy |

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
It does. It's also especially difficult to make a story about them having a really poor human rights record (even if they do) and the turn around and say "give us what we want".
Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Episode 2 Discussion
Hmm.. I just think it is a bit cowardly of them to not name a real country cos all the other storyline seem to be trying to keep up with what is happening in current affairs and everything and it has made countries look bad before...

Yay! I don't feel so bad for getting it wrong now! They really need to change the Geography syllabus... DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered. |

I think their point was it could have been any of the former soviet satellite "XXXXstan" countries that had recently petitioned for entry to the EU, since they all apparently have abundant natural resources and no money to mine them.
