Although, if you want to make any, make sure you post other stuff about the episode too.

RE: Episode 7 Discussion
I omitted it from my original post, but I found it significant that upon meeting the Home Secretary that Harry didn't brush off his addressing him as "Sir Harry". Usually Harry rejects the title, as in 7.8, but here he seemed happy enough to take it, perhaps as a way of keeping it clear that although he's a public servant, he has a K.

Then again, it could just be something no-one thought about.

I think so. It's the same way with certain people you make sure they don't call you by your first name. A demarcation, if you will.

Could be, new at the position, so young. When someone who is your friend or someone you respect and value, makes a deference to you by mentioning a title or an achievement usually you make it 'unimportant'. New HS has not earned his trust yet maybe that's why...

RE: Episode 7 Discussion
And you get that again at the end of the episode, when he is deliberately oblique with the new HS. Even more so than usual, as the whole story is never really told, surely.

I just thought it was very unlike Harry to brush it off. He doesn't usually like being addressed by his title, but in this instance I think he wanted to leave the emphasis on his age, experience and value as an Section head hanging in the air. And the HS very quickly then started calling him Harry anyway.

Been on a break. Currently operating without a brain. Dunno the apparatus you're referring to. Had a pipe in middle school but that was for research on vapours.

Instead, how would you like to find RA under the tree on Christmas day, telling you, "Stay!"

I also think he's still angry about how the last HS went out and wants this new guy to know that he shouldn't assume anything. H was going to be unhappy no matter who the new HS was and was going to want to make sure the new person knew it.
