It's not the better series I agree with that
IMVHO I don't think it's fair to say that of the characters, is more an evolution, methinks. Take Ruth for example, she's suffered a lot, and she did show emotions about Ashok for example; she's not the same person as she was in 5.05 and I like that, it wouldn't make sense... A lot of things happened to her and they affected her and shaped her current character... Harry has been affected since 8.01 it was very hard for him to see Ruth coming back and making her suffer in such a way; he wasn't his fault but still... As for Lucas... I wasn't a fan of his relationship with the CIA girl... but perhaps he needed a bit of affection... I also preferred series 7 Lucas.
