You have really got their relationship nailed down. I liked the fact there was a reference to George albeit a silent one. Not enough has been made of Ruth's relationship with him or her obvious devastation at his death or method of his death, in other fan fiction I have read. Ruth obviously doesnt have much of a life outside work to be able to just pack a bag in a few hours and disappear for a few days.

As for the teeth and hair comment, I liked the way you got that in. Sure I have heard it somewhere else before......
