I think Tom didn't handle it quite well, he admited he was a spy, and after a while Danny called him, they needed to meet, and Tom told Ellie he must leave to grab a beer when they were discussing, he denied that call had something to do with his job. I don't think that was fair, it wouldn't have been a problem to tell her it was a spy issue...

Another thing is when do you tell the other person you're spy? when it's too soon and when it's too late? Obviously your wedding day is not a good choice
