Epoque Ch. 2

Some questions:
-Why did Ruth come into the hallway, cursing? Was she waiting for him? If so, why did it take her a few seconds to know he was there? Or was there something else that made her leave her room?

I like the set up of the chapter -- they'd been there before. Someone said the definition of insanity is continuing to do the same things in the same way and expecting a different outcome. Have they both changed enough so that this "same" situation will end differently? I actually don't know the answer to that question . . . yet.

Interestingly, she references George but he doesn't. His apology has to do with him and her -- he's sorry for her pain, for his actions, that she had to give up her happy life (is he really? don't think so), that she had to see him that way (probably true), and that she cursed him (true). But the kicker is that he may have told them what they wanted to know because of her. Where does this take them? Honestly, I'm not sure.

So, this chapter left me with more questions than answers, which is a good thing. Something is being set up but I can't see it quite clearly yet.
