In order to kick off this thread again, I will transcribe a small chat JHyde and I have had a few minutes ago, discussing her last fan fic Epoque:

it's what made this so hard
B: If they end badly this is the version that will be in my head
JH: Ruth on twitter just messaged me saying that she never loved George, it was always Harry
B: It was always Harry
but I think she loved George a bit too
JH: I mean, HR fans are split on this. I think she did, but others refuse to admit she could love anyone else at all. I don't think it works that way, especially given how loving Ruth is as a person
B: I'm not an expert in love matters but I think she loved George
For her Harry was over
she wasn't supposed to see him anymore
JH: plus she's obsessive and her mind wasn't being used, so george gave her meaning too with Nico
B:her true love is Harry, I think she never stopped loving him.
She's so loving
JH: yeah I agree. that's what I meant about a box waiting to be opened. It was there still
B: but things change and you have to confront them.
