Yeah, I think just the fact that they brought Ruth back is a good way of looking at it, they know they have a good thing stringing us all along, they are fully aware how loved she is as a character; they must know that most people are rooting for them to get together.

The other characters always seem to have love interests. Well Adam and Tom had enough for the whole of the grid!
