I often thought of it as his Smiley coat, because it made me think of George Smiley for some reason.

I wonder if they had Smiley in mind with Harry, in terms of physical appearance, and also his integrity of character. I found an article about the writers of Spooks ages ago, where it said that the original writer had been inspired by John Le Carre..

And thank you Tea Lady! I just need to think of him standing up in his shellsuit, trying to maintain his dignity and saying "I can assure the Home Secretary.." and I feel like he really needs a hug!
