He is controlled and principled. He has a dry sense of humour and is totally loyal to the Crown and his officers. These are attractive qualities to the thinking woman. His love life has suffered so we can all sleep soundly in our beds at night. I guess us gals just want to look after him and maybe thats partly our motherly instinct. I have to say that he is handsome but more so when he has his hair (what remains) cut very short, almost shaved. I agree 100%. It's not the power, it's the never losing his temper quality, always sharp and cynical (but you can see he has feelings too) and protecting his officers (remember he was ready to take the blame for the "Ruth murder" episode... But then this leads us to another favourite topic...
