Well, it's a case of different strokes for different folks. We all identify more with certain characters due to our psychological make-up and life experiences. And because our experiences have differed, people identify with different characters. Besides, life would be pretty boring if we all agreed on everything. I don't mind other people not liking Harry and Ruth, as long as they don't deny my right to love them. So I can live with the fact that not everyone thinks Harry and Ruth together would be wonderful, but I don't agree with the argument that it is not in keeping with the show. If it remains the secondary story thread, then it is in keeping with the show's history. One couple that gets it together does not make the whole show sweetness and light. We can still have lots of death and angst and depression despite them finding some happiness with each other.
