That's brilliant! I went because I felt like I should try and get one of the more enjoyable experiences out of school, especially because I hated it and was miserable 98% of the time. I think I also wanted to feel like I was one of the pack for once, as I rarely did social things at school. Either because I wasn't invited or because I couldn't go.

My main memory of my Yr 12 formal was of being completely exhausted. I had worked an early shift and then raced out to regional NSW for a funeral before dashing back to Sydney and getting lost trying to find where it actually was (I got the hotels confused) and got very angry running around in my heels and feeling like a dope. I called the mother of the friend whom I was staying with to find the damn place!

I also ended up having my first drink that night. Only one, but it was my first and I turned 18 about six weeks before. I think I ended up looking after other people before falling asleep on a beanbag.

Exorcising my school demons here, sorry guys.
