RE: What books are you into?
(05-10-2009 12:19 PM)Thames I Wrote: Bertowud, you said you like reading Lee Childs. Am I right in thinking that he has written a series of books about an ex-special services guy who's a bit of a loner. If that is right can you tell me what the books are like and which one introduces the character (can't remember his name) because I might just give them a go. Someone once sung Childs' praises to me a long time ago and I never got round to having a look. Yes. The character's name is Jack Reacher. He's actually from a special division of the MPs. When the special services guys were misbehaving, he was the guy they sent to deal with them. At least one of the books is about one incident while he was still in the military (The Enemy if I recall correctly). You can read them in any order. I've been reading them in random order picking up whichever one I happened to lay hands on. They're not written or published in chronological order. I probably wouldn't start with the two most recent ones though. Killing Floor was the first one, but I'm glad I didn't start with it. I'd probably start with either The Enemy, One Shot, or Without Fail. Always love your country, but never trust your government. |
