RE: Episode 4 [re-watch]
I really love this episode, especially for the African politics angle. I also love the whole moral dilemma of allowing a guy who is planning a genocide to go ahead in order to save the agreement, or not. Do you sacrifice one tribe in one country, or do you allow them to be killed and hope that the agreement will save more lives than it cost?
Love Harry getting prissy with the Foreign Secretary, and playing him at his own game in the end. That scene where Harry has to decide whether to okay the assassination, is great stuff. Well written, and wonderfully acted all round. And we finally get to see a glimpse of why Ros' skills are so highly regarded. I liked her here, until she went off at Harry at the end. I'm not sure what her argument was there - how is Harry's problems with Ruth in any way comparable to her and her father planning a coup? Very twisted logic she applied, in my opinion. I also love how you can see Ruth's resolve not to date Harry weakening throughout the episode. She just can't stay away from him, even though she thinks it's better to do so. I'm also very impressed with Ruth's ability to organise a bunch of black kids at the drop of a hat... |
