No it's not just you Watchstrap! This drives me completely bananas as well. I'm going to sound 'like' a grump. It's a whole new accent that has developed in 10 years. Used mainly here in Ireland where I reside, by the affluent southside set of Dublin teenagers with what we call mid-atlantic accents.
Insert as many 'loikes' as you can in a sentence, in tamden with 'you know loike', or 'loike you know, Oh my God, loike'. |
