So the symbolism there, must be that God was looking after Albany. God was keeping an eye on a weapon that (if worked) could change the world that he created and select those that died by their race, ethnicity etc. Harry was on his knees to say to God, "sorry," but I have to take this from you to save my Ruth, who is also one of your flock.
