[A Cousin]

During my 9.1 and 9.2 re-watch I had a couple little 20/20 hindsight epiphany moments for Beth esp. as it relates to Lucas. Mostly disjointed and somewhat vague.

1) In 9.2, Vaughan is to Lucas as Chapman is to Beth?

2) Beth smuggled drugs in Columbia and Lucas smuggled drugs in Senegal. Starting both down their mercenary roads. I found it interesting that Lucas challenges her motives with that fact in 9.1. I think it indicative of his trying to do the right thing as Lucas.

3) Does Lucas fight to keep Beth on the team because he sees himself in her? He is giving her a second chance as he got with MI5, despite the route he took to get there. Like Harry with him, he has a vested interest in making Beth work.

4) Beth chooses a very different route to "get clean." Lucas chooses to keep hiding it all. Or she just gets caught and Lucas doesn't. You could argue that relatively speaking, Beth and Lucas' past actions are not on par with each other on the evil-ness scale. But, how do we know that? We do not know all we could know about Beth.
