I didn't like Ros much in five or six (though I wonder if how I felt about her would change upon a rewatch?) but absolutely loved her in seven and eight.

I really liked her sardonic wit and the way she and Lucas seemed to work really well as a team.

re Ros being around for Jucas in series nine, someone made this really interesting blog post about how Lucas always needed someone to tell him what to do and when Ros went, he lost the plot precisely because he didn't have someone telling him what to do anymore. I'm not saying I agree entirely, but I do think there is something in that
