With this I don't mean I have a serious problem with her doing so. It's just that it jars a little with how the character was presented to us in the previous season. I'm not suggesting that she wouldn't have cared about Zaf then, but that she has been shown as someone who narrowly focuses on getting the job done whatever the cost. This struck me too. My guess would be that she knows what it's like to feel you've been left behind and are going to die (in 5.10 she's basically left on the Barrier alone with the terrorists - and probably likely to die - until Adam comes along, and then again when they're under the water we see her at her most vulnerable, in complete and utter panic, and essentially giving up) and she doesn't want Zaf to have to go through that. Perhaps she also feels that she still owes a lot to the team for a) her part in her father's coup and b) her part in Ruth's exile, so she feels she needs to make up for that even more. One of the things about Series 6 - one of the major storylines Spoiler: show Apologies for going slightly off topic there, but it tied in with what I was saying above Av & sig by TygerBright, using my screencaps |
